KNIGHTS SIGN Q CUP STAR

Redcliffe halfback Christian Hazard has joined Newcastle.

With Jaelen Feeney not re-signed and William Pearsall leaving the game for full-time employment on the Central Coast, the Knights have turned to Hazard as their replacements.,

Hazard, who was previously at the Titans but yet to make his first-grade debut, enjoyed a successful season with the Dolphins in the Queensland Cup.

His form saw him rewarded with a Queensland Residents jersey.

While the 22-year-old is a half, he satisfies the utility post due to his ability to also play hooker and fullback.

Meanwhile, Newcastle prop Tyrone Amey has re-signed for 2018.

The 21-year-old made his NRL debut in round 26 this year after impressing in reserve grade.

While he was on a part-time deal last in 2017, the new deal elevates the 106 kilo forward into the full-time squad.

PANTHERS SIGNED UNTAPPED POTENTIAL

Penrith have signed versatile Bulldogs back Tyrone Phillips.

The 23-year-old has agreed to a one-year-deal which sees him leave the club he made his first grade debut with back in 2015.

A Fijian international, Phillips leaves Belmore with six top grade games to his name for four tries.

The Panthers have also signed Italy backrower Jayden Walker to a one-year-deal.

A former Australian Schoolboy, Walker has had an injury interrupted few seasons with Cronulla.

At 101 kilos, Walker played 80 minutes for the Italians on the weekend after receiving the team’s player’s player award the previous week.

He’s another astute pick up from Penrith boss Phil Gould.
