FULL TIME:  Warriors have the final play and at the end of lengthy play the scores end up level.  1 point may prove vital in the 2009 NRL final 8 chase.

Well what an amazing game.  Joel Moon scores 4 tries for the Warriors and they held a comfortable 32-6 lead with 28 minutes to go.  But minute by minute, the Panthers clawed back whilst the Warriors self destructed.  Luke Walsh's clever stepping saw him score and Frank Puletua backed up on a Frank Pritchard burst to stride over.  Michael Jenning's stretched out five minutes from time which bought the game back to 32-30.  Wade McKinnon made a mistake from a Walsh kick three minutes from time and the Panthers received a penalty for a high tackle right on the Warriors line which allowed Michael Gordon to level up at 32-all.  The full time siren came too soon for the Panthers, they just needed a few extra moments to possibly clinch victory from the jaws of defeat.  Wade Graham got within ten metres right at the end but lost the ball on full time.  Stacey Jones' 82nd min field goal attempt from about 40 metres out almost hit the black dot, but bounced back out and the Panthers survived.  In the 86th min Kevin Locke juggled the ball and Frank Pritchard followed through which ended up resulting in a Panthers knock on eventually which might have been a big tough on the home side.
Tonight might have just ended the Warriors season.  They just didn't show enough desperation in the second half to stop the Panthers juganaut.
For the Panthers, plenty of spirit to fight back but must improve their discipline to match the Dragons in our 1000th game at CUA this Friday night.
Just as a side note, when Elford scored the try at 10-32 there was a scuffle in goal and about 30 seconds was lost in the game before the ref called time out.  Could those thirty seconds cost the Panthers victory?

Next week I'll be live at CUA Stadium and can't wait to see how we do against the Dragons.  Tonight's one point could be vital in the finals chase and see's us in 5th place.  The worse we can do this weekend is sixth spot pending the Eagles v Tigers result on Monday night.

QUEENSLAND PANTHERS PLAYER OF THE YEAR
3 - Michael Gordon on the back of an impressive kicking record and he's had a good return to the NRL after a few weeks off
2 - Michael Jennings again proved vital scoring the try to get back to 30-32 and looked dangerous in attack.
1 - Wade Graham solid game tonight really improving as a footy player in his second NRL season

And just maybe. The boys had the Dragons game in the back of their mind, which was a contributing factor in the 1st half points blow out. Huh Huh
